I’ve already written about why I love short hair. (Click here to read about it.) And I just chopped my hair and wanted to help give other girls, who have been wanting to try it but are feeling very apprehensive about the change, some courage. It’s not as scary as you think.

Let’s Talk Lippies

This obsession about lippies began mid last year, when I discovered the myriad of looks you can achieve by just changing your lipstick color. Also, you don’t really need a lot of makeup if you dabb on a beautiful shade onto your lips–a plus for lazy people like me who won’t ever do a full face on a daily basis. I have a few favorites that I always keep at hand, namely Happy Skin in the shades Wonder Woman and Crushing on You, and Clinique in the shade Bare Pop. But I decided to try this new line my sister-in-law was raving about, Powerlips Fluid Lipstick. Here are a few of my first impressions about this new item on the market.
BLK Matte Lipstick Review
What was the hype all about? Oh.. it’s Anne Curtis’ makeup line, I thought. I wondered if it really was something worth trying.
A few days after the launch, my officemates were talking about BLK and we were all so very curious. And a day or two after that, one of them bought a matte lipstick in the shade, Fearless. We all instantly tried it and well, the rest was history! Here’s a photo of us all wearing Fearless.
Curious About Dry Shampoo?
Well, I am.
I’ve read and heard (from several people) that washing your hair every day–and twice a day as we do here–can be damaging and drying for your hair. Naturally, I got really curious about dry shampoo. Dry shampoo is said to soak up oil, add volume, and leave your hair fresh all day without damaging the hair. That got me right away so I started reading up some more and here’s what I found.
Taipei Travel Essentials
By essentials, I mean THE only things I had. Literally. And guess what? I survived.
Of all things to forget, I forgot my makeup kit when I left for Taipei. What an elephant problem–and any girl can relate to this, I’m sure! I only had a few items but heck, these were the greatest lifesavers. Thank goodness that for some reason, these were in random places in my bag.
5 Reasons Why I Love Short Hair

This is dedicated to all the girls out there who are simply afraid to let go of their long locks. I used to be that girl. I used to have long hair all the time and I didn’t want to cut it short. EVER.
I was a ballet dancer for most of my growing years and dancers need to have hair long enough to keep in a neat bun. So I was used to long hair. It was the norm among the girls I was with and in the environment I grew up in.
It was also during my teen years that hair re-bonding became a real big thing. Everyone was doing it and all the shampoo and conditioner commercials promoted long, straight hair. Today, we already have commercials that talk about hair having body and nice waves. But back then, waves weren’t cool. Everyone wanted straight, silky, and smooth long hair. I did too.
So for the longest time I had long hair and never considered cutting it short. It was what I was used to and it was what was “beautiful”. Until one day, I wanted change. I had just started working and I felt I needed to look, well, different. As they say, “new life, new hair” (HAHA!). I also wanted to look more mature because according to a lot of people, I still looked like a student. Finally, after a lot of encouragement from my then officemates, I took the risk. And you know what, I loved it! So allow me to share 5 reasons why I love short hair. True, it’s not for everyone, but you’ll never really know unless you try. And hey, some of the benefits are real winners! So here goes.
Subtle Basics
I’ve posted this product in Instagram several times over the last three years. I’d always mention that it’s my favorite but I never had the chance to explain in detail why. Allow me to finally justify my social media raving about this one.
Coffee Sans the Stain

Those who know me are well aware that I love iced coffee and milk tea. No problem with having a little kick from caffeine every day, right? Wrong.
During my routine cleaning and check-up with the dentist, he asked me, “Do you smoke?” I said no. Then he followed with, “Do you drink a lot of coffee?” I gave a guilty smile and he finished the interrogation saying, “Your teeth have noticeable stains.” I knew of this fact–that coffee stains your teeth–but it never really bothered me until someone actually called it out. I then knew that okay, eventually I might consider undergoing a teeth whitening procedure some time in the mid future.
I guess, it’s really fortunate that I’m surrounded by people who are into health and beauty because I was handed a simple product that solved my tainted teeth. In just a month, I got my pearly whites back. I was quite impressed, to be honest.
Get Whipped!
No, this is not a kinky post, far from it, in fact. This is about a new place I discovered and a new hair removal alternative for all the ladies out there.
